According to Fairbanks, Ben has been on the bike for 32 hours--his longest pull yet--great tailwinds. The team is about 20 miles or so from Pratt, Kansas--the halfway point in the race. When they reach Pratt, it's nap time for both rider and Crue.

Soon Ben can count miles down instead of up! Keep it up Ben and crew!
32 hours !!!!!!! WOW !!!!!!
Wow. TP just left Pratt after a measly 3-hour sleep on the heals of 32 straight hours of riding and they are moving forward in the scorching heat.

Cougar sightings are on the rise in the eastern US, according to National Geographic. See http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2003/05/0507_030507_cougars.html.
Of course, Cougars are also all over California, especially Hollywood, and TP didn't see a single one! See http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/2009/06/14/2009-06- 14_cougars_on_the_prowl_on_big_screens_and_small.html?page=0. Peder
6 years ago, in Springfield Missouri, it was reported:
"In recent months, reports of cougars in the Ozarks have become more common. And with recent evidence confirming that the animals rarely seen in Missouri since the late 1920s have returned to the state, officials want more substantial evidence before sending a team to pursue each reported sighting."
WAY TO GO Ben and Team!!! 33+ hours on the bike...WOW. Motivated now, I'll bet. You're cup is now half full and the excitement must be magnanimously rising with each mile you log. Smart move to ride through the cooler nites and sleep during the heat peaks. Half the race behind you, you must be soaring now, Ben. Keep up the good work.

Sad to see that both Oyler and Strasser have dropped out due to medical reasons, but guess that's part of this grueling race. Wish them both speedy recoveries. Assuming Ben remains healthy, continues his pace and finishes the race, is it feasible that he could be named Rookie of the Year?
Anyone know what's happened to Daniel Rudge? His race time shows only 1hr 48 minutes?
To Ben and Crew,
My son Tim Case, Team Strong Heart, did the solo last year but I have to say Ben is doing an amazing job. Just keep the finish line in site and worry about nothing else.
Fred Case, Geneva, IL.
Way to go BEN!
(this is from Amy Bauch, one of Greg's clients from last summer...)
1679 miles through the last TS. How is that possible? TP has already achieved a remarkable victory testing the limits of human capacity. I really cannot grasp what rider and crue are battling and enduring right now. It is like nuclear annihilation or the birth of the universe: the mind just cannot embrace it. If I lift weights and do 30 minutes of cardio today wearing my Endurance Athlete socks I will be patting myself on the back. TP is an inspiration.
